WordPress 0.7 was officially released on 27th May 2003 by Matt Mullenweg and Mike Little. Since its inception, this open-source content management system has only reached newer heights with each new release, the latest being the WordPress 6.2 “Dolphy.”
It is the #1 CMS platform with a market share of 63.3% and has a repository of 60,339 free plugins and 10,752 free themes. To celebrate this incredible milestone, the WordPress community around the globe has organized various WP20 celebration meetups in their city.
From being a blogging platform to becoming the world’s top most used CMS, WordPress has come a long way and is only getting more innovative and technologically advanced each year.
